Sick Sick Sicks

Hey

We're coming off a little bout with some sort of cold, don't worry I don't think it's swine flu...

The last couple of weeks have been jam packed with band activity. I mean non-stop. We were visited by the French band Novels, played a bunch of shows with them in CT and Brooklyn, and shared a split recording session with Scott Norton at Headgear Recording Studio. Our track is called 'Head Technician' and is being mastered by Joe LaPorta at the Lodge in NYC. Watch out that's coming soon!

Last saturday we played what will be our last NY show for a while at Brooklyn's DIY venue House of Yes. Thanks to Renminbi, Bits & Pisces, KC Quilty and Miniboone for playing! Pictures by LD of Bits and Pisces and video by Nikkie of Coceyea

Tomorrow morning we embark on another leetle tour. Excited to be playing at the Siena School! Followed by a benefit show for Invisible Children! With art by J.Coleman! Followed by a stop at the Cucalorus Film Festival! And on to Chapel Hill with Cracker Creeptacular! Wrapping up saturday at Backdoor Skatepark (always wanted to play at a skatepark!) in Greenville, NC.

After all that we're going to hunker down for a few months of intensive writing and recording. Lots of ideas in the works. Stay tuned...

Yesterday Today and Tomorrow

Well folks we've got good news and bad news.... but first the good news.

Tomorrow we embark on our summer tour. We are excited to be hitting the road and visiting our friend J. Coleman, who will be doing some live artwork at our shows, and also working on art for our next record.

Right, about that next record. We just finished listening to basic tracks for an EP we have tentatively titled "Auto Immune," and it sounds pretty good if I may say so myself. Soon enough you can all judge for yourselves!

All this is great, but unfortunately there is a dark shadow dampening our spirits. Yesterday, our friend Brooklyn P. Kittyman departed this world for the great hereafter :( He was suffering from a terrible disease called Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) and although he fought it for longer than any would have expected, his struggle is now at a peaceful end. We are heartbroken and will miss you forever Brooklyn. R.I.P.

Sleepwalk

Sleepwalk by Santo & Johnny is one of our all time favorite songs. It's been covered many times by bands like the Shadows, the Ventures, and now you can listen to (or download) our cracked out version here: Sleepwalk

Here is a sweet video of the original performed by Santo & Johnny:

Mini Tour was a blast!

We had so much fun this past weekend! Thanks to Sub Rosa for putting us on at Cousin Larry's, it was such a great night. Shout out to the Gay Blades, nice to finally meet/play with you! Reason to Rebel was awesome as always but I have to say they REALLY went off the next night in Plattsburgh, where we played this sweet house party. The basement was packed and energy levels were super high! Even though we of course got shut down (during our last song) by police, it was probably one of our best shows of all time. Thanks to everyone who put that party together, you rock! Next stop Albany Red Square where the sound is top notch. We had a really kickass meal at Capital Q's Smokehouse, okie pig and fried catfish mmmm delicious. The show was also pretty kickass! We left completely exhausted. Much to our surprise, on the way home we ended up getting invited to play a last minute show in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. We got back just in time to rock out and get paid... in baked ziti and chicken marsala!
